Dunedin Dancers

A typical Wednesday evening

Weekly Dancing

Dunedin Dancers meets every Wednesday evening (apart from holidays) for social Scottish Country dancing from 7:30-9:30pm.

The Spring term starts on January 8th 2025, ends April 9th

... all dates inclusive.

The dances are chosen and called by a different member of our group each week.
Visitors are very welcome, although if you attend regularly we would appreciate it if you become a member to support the administration of Dunedin; each evening only costs £5.
For regular visitors it is cheaper if you pay in advance for the entire term
(£65 for the Autumn term, £45 for the January-March term, £50 for the Summer term or £150 for the entire year)

Dunedin Wednesdays

Wednesday evenings, 7:30-9:30 in St Matthew Hall, Morningside Parish Church Hall, 2 Cluny Gardens, EH10 6BQ (click here for a map)

For any dancer with a reasonable grasp of the basics of Scottish Country Dancing, this is informal social dancing which includes a varied selection of dances chosen by the caller on the night, most of which should be familiar. We dance to live music from one of our regular musicians playing accordion every second week; on the other evenings we dance to recorded music.

General notes

Dress is informal and all dances are walked through; programmes are not published in advance.
There is a short break half way through the evening.
For everyone's enjoyment, please bear our Social Guidelines in mind.

This is informal social dancing - we do not run classes to teach dances or technique so our group is not ideal for absolute beginners.
The Edinburgh Branch of the RSCDS run beginners classes if you require them.

It would help if you could pay by electronic banking, either in advance or at the door.
If this is not possible, please bring exact change and pay when you arrive and sign in.
